Pensacola Fishing Reports

Inshore & Night Fishing Specialist

Trophy Fish Caught

Real-time local conditions are lining up perfectly, with our recent Pensacola fishing reports highlighting massive success across our coastal flats and structural lights. Anglers are currently landing impressive trophy fish, including heavy bull Redfish, hard-fighting Black Drum, and large Speckled Trout. While Northwest Florida is known for classic estuary species rather than colorful coral reef varieties, the warm summer currents bring an incredible diversity of fast-moving, sub-tropical fish into our bays. If you are looking to target specific, photo-worthy species or break a personal record, now is the perfect time to book your spot on the water.

Family-Friendly Fishing Adventures

We specialize in providing safe, relaxed, and highly memorable family-friendly fishing trips tailored for all ages and experience levels. Captain Jamie’s patient teaching style ensures that kids and beginners feel completely at ease while learning how to cast, hook, and reel in their catches. Our private inshore trips navigate calm, protected bay waters to prevent motion sickness, and we supply all necessary safety gear, custom light tackle, and licenses. It is an easygoing, fun day on the water designed to keep the lines moving and create lasting memories together.

Fishing Year-Round in Pensacola & Milton

Our local bays and rivers offer incredible opportunities for fishing year-round, making our charters a reliable choice no matter the season. The spring and summer months deliver blistering action for slot Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, and Speckled Trout, while the cooling water temperatures of fall and winter bring massive bull reds and heavy Sheepshead onto the local structures. Because we operate across multiple local bodies of water, we can constantly adapt to changing seasonal patterns and real-time conditions to put you exactly where the bite is strongest.

Pensacola Bay - Santa Rosa, FL Inshore Report on 11th Jul, 2026

The summer inshore bite is officially heating up across the Florida Panhandle. If you are looking for the ultimate local angling experience, the current conditions are creating a perfect storm for targeting some of our most sought-after local species. From the shallow flats to the dock lights after dark, the action is steady, and the fish are hungry. The Current Inshore Catch Overview Right now, our primary focus remains on the bays and flats. Water temperatures are sitting right in the summer sweet spot, pushing baitfish into predictable patterns. Redfish: Schools are moving heavily along the shorelines of Escambia Bay and East Bay during the early morning hours. Speckled Trout: The trout bite is strongest around deeper grass flats at first light, before they retreat to deeper structures as the sun gets high. Other Species: We are also bringing in plenty of Black Drum and Mangrove Snapper around the local bridges and structure. Master the Shallow Flats: Pensacola Redfish Fishing Our daylight charters have seen exceptional activity this week. The Pensacola redfish fishing scene is thriving, particularly on shallow flats where fish are actively tailing on falling tides.

Sights and Strikes Abound: Reeling in Prized Inshore Treasures

It was a beautiful June morning when Alex and their crew joined us at Milton, FL for a 4 Hour Trip – Inshore (Day) with Addicted to Scales & Tail Charters. The weather was partly cloudy with some afternoon rain, but we were determined to make the most of it and get them on some quality inshore fish. The waters around Garcon Point are known for their diverse population of Spotted Weakfish, Redfish, and even the occasional Atlantic Sharpnose Shark, especially during the summer months. We started the day off with some jigging and fly fishing, targeting the deeper channels and structure where the Weakfish and Redfish like to hang out. It didn't take long before one of the rods started screaming—Alex had hooked into a nice Spotted Weakfish that put up an impressive fight. After getting that fish in the boat, the action stayed steady, and we started picking up a few more Weakfish, as well as some nice Redfish. The fly rods got in on the action too, with a few Reds smashing the flies we were working. As the afternoon rolled in, the weather shifted a bit, and we decided to switch over to some heavier tackle to target the larger predators. And boy, were we glad we did! One of the anglers in the group got absolutely spooled when a big Atlantic Sharpnose Shark hammered their bait. After a lengthy battle, we were able to leader the fish, snap a few pics, and send it on its way. The rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy the excitement before we called it a day. If you're looking to experience some of the best inshore fishing the Florida Panhandle has to offer, the 4 Hour Trip – Inshore (Day) with Addicted to Scales & Tail Charters is a must. Unleash the Inshore Predators: Avalon's Redfish and Weakfish Frenzy

Avalon, Florida is a prime spot for inshore fishing in May, with the warming waters and abundant baitfish drawing in some of the best gamefish the area has to offer. That's exactly what we set out to experience on this 4 Hour Inshore Fishing Private Trip with Addicted to Scales & Tail Charters. As we launched the boat at 2306 N 14th Ave and headed out, the partly cloudy skies and calm waters had me feeling optimistic about the day ahead. We started off slow, working the flats with some light tackle and fly fishing, but it didn't take long before the action started to pick up. I saw a big Redfish smash a topwater lure, and Brian was quick to hook into it, putting up an impressive fight before we got it in the boat. That first fish set the tone for the rest of the trip - we found the schools of Spotted Weakfish busting baitfish, and Brian was on them, working jigs and heavy tackle to pull in fish after fish. The back and forth kept us on our toes, but that's what makes these inshore trips so much fun. You never know what's going to hit next, and having to adjust your techniques on the fly is all part of the thrill. Between fish, we'd take a quick break to admire the beautiful Avalon scenery and talk about the day's highlights. It was shaping up to be one of those trips you just don't want to end. If you're looking to experience the best inshore fishing Avalon, Florida has to offer, I can't recommend Addicted to Scales & Tail Charters enough.
